Huh? I could do better with that greeting, right? But yeah, writing a blog post is quite challenging for me, as this is the first time I am writing something online (If we ignore Instagram posts we write on daily basis… lol!) yet I am here writing my first blog post with my hand shivering to type. Am I excited? Yeah! Starting my own blog has always been my dream. But everything for the first time is scary. At least for me, it is. The first day of my school was, and so was my high school and college too. So is writing this first blog post. Fear of making a mistake, of being wrong with my grammar, my spellings and what not.
So, I have this very bizarre concept of perfection. Though I am not, I try to be. Which is quite impossible, as perfection is subjective. At least things need to be perfect from my perspective to satisfy my concept of perfection or let’s say staying organized. I put forward few questions for myself. how I wanted my first post to be like. I came up with 5 questions which I will be answering individually. Which I feel must be included in my first blog post. So,
At first, when I was thinking about content to post I thought of making it very serious one. Like putting everything very official and blog related. I was almost halfway writing about my blog, and seriously at one point, I was stuck. I found my content to be boring. Who would love to read a full-size blog post which looked much of a resume than a post?
We love listening to people’s likes, hobbies, dislikes etc. At least I do. So I thought why not to share 5 things I like and dislike the most.
5 THINGS I LIKE
When I sat down to list out 5 things I like, it didn’t end with number 5. I almost filled the whole column writing random things which included many things like shopping, makeup, road trips etc. Those were things which almost every girl would like. I decided to, things which described ME personally.
Honestly, writing about pani puri itself is making me crave for it. Pani puri is something which every Indian girl likes. “Bhaiya khatta banana” “bhaiya thika banana” are some phrases which we all relate to. My obsession for pani puri is little too much. Pani puri. Moody? Huh? Pani puri. Hungry? Pani puri. Couldn’t think better? Pani puri. Happy? Yeah! Pani puri. It has become the solution and the celebration of my life. It is something to which I am clearly addicted to.
#2 LAZY DAYS
Monsoons with kadak masala chai and book to read under your blanket, Sounds perfect right? Those are the lazy days I adore. I am what people call a pluviophile. Rains always made me feel better. Maybe not playing in rains but the scenario I described above always did. Though I always like to use my day productively(trust me! it never happens)If someone asks me to describe a perfect day it would definitely be a lazy day. Having a movie marathon, just sleeping and scrolling Insta feed are some of the things I like to do on a lazy day.
Travelling… Huh! If I had to pick one favorite thing from the list, that would definitely be traveling. I love traveling for many reasons. It gives us the opportunity for adventure. Moreover, we get exposed to different kinds of cultures, traditions, people etc. the best part of traveling is food. Culture varies from place to place and so does with food. We get to eat something new with every variation in culture. Another thing which I love about traveling is the feeling you get once you’re finished with your trip. A feeling of something new inside you, an experience, a memory which u carry with you for the rest of your life. I could give a million more reasons to explain why I love traveling. But isn’t the word ‘love’ enough to explain it all? Do we really need to give reasons for something we love?
Music is the best getaway a person can have. I always like to have some kind of music playing in the background. Music lifts up any kind of vibe. How awkward it feels when you are with someone and you have nothing to talk? I feel music is the best conversation starter. At least it kills that awkward silence. Music is not all about listening. It is about tuning to the rhythm, Swaying to the beats, Dancing to your favorite item numbers, relating ourselves to those empathetic lyrics and singing out so loud that u almost damage your vocal cords. So yeah! music it is…
Finally, I am writing something about minions. I don’t think I have to explain the level of obsession I have for minions, my blog name says it all. They are so cute and adorable that I could do anything to make them exist. I wish they were real. I would never even ask my dad to get me a pet dog if I had one.
THINGS I DISLIKE
#1 BAD HAIR DAYS
My morning routine gets all messed up on a bad hair day. I have limp, thin and straight kind of hair which tend to look less bouncy than other hair types. On 3rd or 4th day after hair wash, my hair gets all greasy with zero bounce in it. And then u have somewhere to go and it’s a bad hair day. can u imagine anything worse? I spend hours in front of my dresser adding tons of dry shampoo in a little hope of adding volume and life to my hair, but still, end up looking funny in a ponytail. And after hours of experimenting, I finally step out of my house caring 0% about my appearance. And given the level of self-obsession I have, it is something I would obviously dislike(Hate tbh!).
Sometimes I feel too lazy to get up and do things. And that ends up in piles and piles of mess, unorganized mess. No matter how much I procrastinate, at the end of the day the thing which irritates me the most is mess. I spend 70% of my time in cleaning and another 30% in messing up. I keep cleaning and messing at the same time and that’s a never-ending loop. That’s the one thing I dislike and try to avoid. I have a habit of planning everything I do or I am about to do. My Plan is definitely not that professional micro plan. I just like to have a preview of things I have to do. That makes me easier to function as I get confused very easily. Yeah! That’s the minimum amount of organization I need in my life and not reaching to that limit makes me sad for sure.
#3 SUNNY DAYS
No guys, I am not talking about that perfect beach and a sunny day combination. I am talking about those annoying days when its mid-summer and sun is in the mood of burning us to ashes. Those days when it is so hot outside, dripping in sweat wala hot. The most annoying part comes when I step out with loads of sunscreen and all covered scarf, but still, end up coming home with skin burned to death. Skin so tan that getting rid of it becomes an impossible task. such extremely hot days makes me so difficult to function and the only thing which runs in my mind is sleeping. And this is definitely not that kind of lazy days I adore.
#4 MORNING ROUTINE
The most challenging task to do in the morning is waking up, especially on working days. That feeling when u are loving your morning sleep which u didn’t have like since ages but the clock keeps ticking, time keeps running and you have to, WAKE UP!! Waking up wouldn’t be difficult for a movie or a day out, but waking up and getting ready for college or work is annoying. It gets more annoying when it starts to get late, when u can’t find that lost sock, when u are reheating your tea for the 10th time (LOL!).Those ‘In hurry’ ‘getting late’ morning routines are something I dislike.
We all think, Thoughts keeping flowing. But sometimes we think so much that we start thinking about things which are completely unnecessary. I over think a lot, it doesn’t have to be something negative. It can be on basic things like buying a dress, talking to someone etc. Sometimes it reaches to an extent where everything gets so cloudy that making a decision becomes difficult. For example, when I stress myself on making a choice between two dresses, I start over thinking and that’s where it becomes harder. That point where things start to get cloudy and blank is something I don’t like at all.
Hope you guys like it 🙂
